JUNE 2008

Jacquelyn G. Curtis of Kenosha has been promoted to Commercial Banker after completion of Southport Bank’s Commercial Banking Trainee program. She joined Southport Bank in October 2005 as a Teller and was promoted to Personal Banker in May 2006. Prior to joining Southport Bank, Jackie had a number of years of experience in customer service within the retail industry. She will be based at the Southport Financial Center on Green Bay Road.

Michael J Ostby of Kenosha has been promoted to Commercial Banker after completion of the Commercial Banking Trainee Program. Mike was rehired to Southport Bank in July 2007 as a Commercial Banking Trainee. He had been employed as a Corporate Technology Sales Representative with CDW. Previously Mike worked for as a Teller for Southport Bank from 1998 to 2003. Michael will be based at Southport Bank’s Branch Office in Paddock Lake.

David Pauley of Kenosha has been named an Officer of Southport Bank. Dave joined Southport Bank in September 2007 as Branch Manager of the Paddock Lake location. Dave has over 19 years of experience in banking with 10 of those being at a Branch Manager level. Prior to joining Southport Bank, he worked for Chase Bank as a Relationship Banker/Officer and as a Vice President, Branch Manager in the Burlington and Kenosha markets and as Vice President, Branch Manager at Bank of Kenosha.

Richard Lechusz of Pleasant Prairie has been promoted to Vice President, Commercial Banking. Rick joined Southport Bank in March 2008 as a Loss Mitigation Specialist. Prior to joining Southport Bank, he worked for Weyco Group as Vice President, Credit and Collection Director. Rick has been involved in finance and credit/collections for over 30 years.

Karl J. Ostby, President and CEO of Southport Bank, was one of nineteen Wisconsin business people named among the finalists for the Ernst & Young Entrepreneur Of The Year award in the Upper Midwest.

Paul Otto, a life long resident of Kenosha, has been promoted to Senior Vice President, Chief Operating Officer. Paul will oversee Deposit and Loan Operations, Information Technology and the Compliance and Audit functions of the Bank. Paul joined the Southport team in April 2001 as an Accounting Associate and became the Controller in July of 2003. He was named Assistant Vice President in December 2005 and was promoted to Vice President in December 2006.

Art Thompson joined Southport Bank May 2008 as Senior Vice President, Chief Financial Officer. He has many years of banking experience and most recently was the Chief Financial Officer for Universal Savings Bank in Milwaukee. A current resident of Muskego, Art is originally from Kenosha and is glad to be moving back to his home town. A graduate of Bradford High School and the University of Wisconsin Parkside, he has a Bachelor Degree in Business Management/Accounting and he obtained his CPA in 1987.

Debbie Lawler of Kenosha has been promoted to Officer of Southport Bank. Debbie is the Branch Manager of the Southport Bank's SuperValu Office on 80th Street. She joined Southport Bank in April 2000 as a Personal Banker at the Main Office on Green Bay Road and was named Branch Manager of the SuperValu location in December of 2004. Debbie previously worked at M&I Bank.

Kyle R. Vitkus, a life-long resident of Kenosha, was promoted to Vice President of Commercial Banking. Kyle joined Southport Bank in May 2000 as a Teller and has worked in various areas of the bank. After graduating from Marquette University in May 2002, Kyle became a Commercial Banking Representative, and in June 2004 became a Commercial Banking Officer. His focus continues to be on business development, real estate lending, and commercial relationships.

Karl J. Ostby, President and CEO of Southport Bank was honored at the Kenosha Achievement Centers Annual Benefit Auction. Contributing time and expertise to many community groups, Karl also served on the KAC board for the past ten years, including two terms as president. It was during his tenure that KAC welcomed Early Intervention Services, Early Head Start, obtained the single largest contract under Wisconsin State Use and became ISO certified – the first community rehabilitation facility in Wisconsin to do so. One of Karl’s best-remembered quotes was
repeated, “Passion for mission must thrive within and drive each volunteer.”

Cathy Pellegrino of Kenosha has been promoted to Retail Banking Specialist/IRA and HSA Product Manager at Southport Bank's Green Bay Road Office. Cathy joined Southport Bank in December 2001 as a Personal Banker and IRA Specialist. She has over 16 years of banking experience.

Karl J. Ostby President and CEO of Southport Bank was named Business Person of the Year by the Wisconsin Builders Association for his service to the Community as Chairman of the Southeastern Wisconsin Regional Transit Authority.

Karl Ostby, President and CEO of Southport Bank, was named 2007 Community Banker of the Year by the trade association, Community Bankers of Wisconsin (CBW) at its annual convention in Wisconsin Dells on Sept. 13.

David Pauley joined Southport Bank as the Branch Manager for our Paddock Lake office. Dave has over 18 years of experience in banking with 9 of those being at a Branch Manager level. A resident of Kenosha, Dave most recently was employed as Vice President, Branch Manager at Bank of Kenosha. Prior to joining them, he worked for Chase Bank as a Relationship Banker/Officer and as a Vice President, Branch Manager in the Burlington and Kenosha markets.

Laura Shoemaker, a lifelong resident of Kenosha, has been promoted to Vice President, Sales Manager. Laura started with Southport Bank in December 1999 as a Branch Manager for our Paddock Lake location. Prior to joining Southport Bank, she worked as an Account Specialist for Ruud Lighting where she was involved in sales, sales tracking, and training and development. Previous to that opportunity, she was employed with Advantage Bank where she worked her way from Financial Services Representative to Sales Manager. She has a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Communication from University of Wisconsin – Parkside.

Rita Holm, of Kenosha, has been promoted to Assistant Vice President, Branch Manager of the Southport Bank office located at 1350 22nd Avenue. Rita joined the Southport Bank family in June 1999 as a Personal Banker. She was promoted to Branch Manager in September 2000.

Laura Burnett Shoemaker, of Pleasant Prairie, has been promoted to Assistant Vice President, Branch Manager of the Southport Bank office located in Paddock Lake. Laura was hired in December 1999 as the Branch Manager for that office location.

Ann Wojtkiewicz, of Kenosha, has been promoted to Assistant Vice President, Branch Manager of the Southport Bank Main Office located at 7027 Green Bay Road. Ann started with Southport Bank in August 2001 as a Personal Banker and was promoted to Branch Manager in April 2002.

His focus will continue to be on business development and real estate lending.

Cindy Schlater of Kenosha has been promoted to Assistant Vice President, Deposit Operations. Cindy joined Southport Bank in March 2000 as a Deposit Operations Specialist and most recently served as the Deposit Operations Manager and Officer. Previously employed at M&I Bank as CSR Supervisor and at Abbott Labs Employee Credit Union as Member Service Manager, Cindy has over 20 years of banking experience.

Alan R. Schaefer, a lifelong resident of Kenosha, has been named Chairman of the Board for Southport Financial Corporation and Southport Bank. Mr. Schaefer has been a Director and Founder of the Bank since its inception in 1997. Previous to being elected Chairman, Alan was Lead Director. He also chairs the Compensation Committee and is Trustee of the ESOP.

Patti Welter, a long time resident of Kenosha County has been promoted to Assistant Branch Manager. Patti joined the Southport Bank family in March of 2000 as the Lead Teller at the Paddock Lake Branch office and later became a Personal Banker. She transferred to the Main Office in December 2005 as a Personal Banker position and was promoted to Assistant Branch Manager in April of 2006.

Gerald E. Bonini, Executive Vice President, Chief Operating Officer and Cashier for Southport Bank retired on March 31, 2006. Jerry was the second employee to join Southport Bank at its inception in 1996. He began his banking career in 1963 and retired with 43 years of banking experience. Jerry also taught English at Bradford High School from 1965 to 1978.

Paul W. Otto, a life-long resident of Kenosha was recently promoted to Cashier & Controller. Gerald H. Gerth joined Southport Bank as Senior Vice President and Chief Operations Officer. Gerry currently resides in Waterford, and he comes to us with 30+ years of bank operations experience. Most recently, Gerry had been working as a consultant providing payment systems and operations expertise to financial institutions. The bulk of his operations experience was with Marine Bank, Park Bank and Tri City National Bank where he held various operations roles overseeing deposit operations, cash management, imaging, and check processing. He has managed staffs of over 130 and has managed in rapid growth situations. He brings us more depth in process improvement, imaging, remote capture, and cash management capabilities. Gerry is currently on the WACHA (Wisconsin Automated Clearing House) as a board member and past chairman. He has also served in various roles for NACHA. Deposit Operations, Loan Operations, and Information Technology will report to Gerry.

Beth J. Bahr joined Southport Bank as Vice President, Human Resource. Beth has over 17 years of human resources and performance management experience and most recently was the Vice President of Human Resources at State Financial Services Corporation. Beth received a Bachelors of Arts in Dramatic Arts from the University of Wisconsin – Parkside and a Masters of Science in Human Resources from Marquette University. In addition, she is certified as a Senior Professional in Human Resources.

Jennifer Schnell, a life-long Kenosha resident, has recently been promoted to Full time Personal Banker at the Green Bay Road Office. Jennifer joined Southport Bank in October of 2004 as a part time teller. She has most recently been a full time floating teller.

Andrea S. Williamson of Kenosha has joined Southport Bank as Vice President, BSA / Compliance Officer. She will be located at the Main Office on Green Bay Road. Before joining Southport Bank, she served as BSA / Compliance Officer at State Financial Bank. She has over seven years experience as a compliance professional and more than 15 years experience in the banking industry.

Nancy L. Rupp, of Kenosha, has been named Vice President of Loan Operations for Southport Bank. She has been with the Bank for five years and has over twenty years of prior banking experience including Advantage Bank and M&I Marshall & Ilsley Bank. She previously served as Assistant Vice President for Loan Operations of Southport Bank. She has bachelor degrees in Business Administration and Marketing from Carthage College. She manages commercial, consumer, credit card, portfolio mortgage, document scanning and special projects.

Mary Boris, of Kenosha has been promoted to Assistant Branch Manager of Southport Bank’s SuperValu location. Mary joined Southport Bank in December of 2002 as a part time teller. She has most recently been a Full time teller.

Southport Bank Announces Opening of Racine Office Southport Bank’s new Racine Office located at 5220 Washington Avenue will open its doors to customers on February 21, 2005. An official ribbon cutting is scheduled Tuesday, February 22nd at 8 a.m.

Kim A. Schuller of Racine has joined Southport Bank as Vice President of Commercial Banking. He will focus on business development at the new Racine office at 5220 Washington Avenue. He has 25 years of banking experience, and most recently was Vice President and branch manager of Bank One’s downtown Racine location.

Lorenzo F. Miceli, joined Southport Bank at our new Racine Office as a Mortgage Loan Originator. After obtaining a Bachelor’s degree from U.W. Parkside, Lorenzo worked as a Senior Financial Analyst and Recruiter for Abbott Laboratories. Turning his focus to mortgage lending two years ago, he joined TCF Bank in Racine as a Mortgage Lender.

Capodarco, of Kenosha, has been named Vice President of Commercial Banking for the new Racine location of Southport Bank at 5220 Washington Ave. He will concentrate on business development in Racine. Mike has over 29 years of banking experience including the former First Bank Southeast. Prior to joining Southport Bank in January of 2004, Mike was Vice President of Business Banking with Bank One both in Racine and Kenosha

April Otto, a life long resident of Racine has recently been named Lead Teller at the new Southport Bank Office now open in Racine located at 5220 Washington Ave. She was a Senior Sales and Service Representative for TCF Bank and an Assistant Teller Supervisor for Johnson Bank. Her most recent position was a Top Producer for a well known Real Estate Company here in Racine. April is very glad to have joined the Southport family and looks forward to many years of service to the Racine community.

Bethany L. Perri, a native of Kenosha, has been promoted to Deposit Operations Team Leader. Bethany joined Southport Bank in March 2002 as a Call Center Assistant, and was promoted to Deposit Operations Representative in July 2002. She has a bachelor’s degree in Communication from the University of WI-Parkside.

Linda L. Maeschen of Racine and currently a Personal Banker at Southport Bank’s Main Office will be transferring to the new Racine Office of Southport Bank in February of 2005. Linda joined Southport Bank in July of 2003.

Gerald E. Bonini of Somers was promoted to Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer. Mr. Bonini was one of the founding officers of the Bank in 1997. He has over forty years experience in local banking, and served as Senior Vice President and Cashier of First Bank Southeast/Firstar Bank prior to joining Southport Bank. He previously served as Executive Vice President and Cashier. His responsibilities include administration, accounting, shareholder services, facility management, compliance, and security.

Susan E. Herstedt, a native of Kenosha has been named an Officer of Southport Bank. Susan joined Southport Bank in June of 2002 as an IT Specialist. She currently is Manager of the IT department and has been in IT Management since 1972 at other companies including Baxter International, Tenneco Automotive and Highland Park Hospital.

Susan Marcich a life-long resident of Kenosha has been named an Officer of Southport Bank. She joined Southport Bank in April 2004 as Teller/Proof Operations Manager. Her previous banking experience was in teller operations, accounting, and branch management with Advantage Bank and Northshore Bank. She has a degree from UW-Parkside.

Cindy Schlater of Kenosha, has been named as Officer of Southport Bank. Cindy joined Southport Bank in March of 2000 as a Deposit Operations Specialist and currently is the Deposit Operations Manager. Previously employed at M&I Bank as CSR Supervisor and at Abbott Labs Employee Credit Union as Member Service Manager, Cindy has 19 years of banking experience .

Southport Bank Buys ComCor Mortgage Southport Bank announced that they have acquired ComCor Mortgage from CIB Marine. Comcor’s President and founder, Chuck Morris, will continue to run the operation which will remain headquartered in Waukesha.

Southport Bank to Establish Racine Office Southport Bank announced they intend to establish a branch office in Racine early in 2005. Subject to final regulatory approval, Southport Bank will establish a branch office at 5220 Washington Avenue, which currently houses a Johnson Bank branch.

Heather J. Chambers of Kenosha has been named an Officer of Southport Bank. Heather joined Southport Bank in September of 2000 as a Personal Banker. She has fourteen years of banking experience in the Kenosha market and currently is a Mortgage Banker.

Molly L. Krause of Kenosha has been named an Officer of Southport Bank. Molly joined Southport Bank in September of 2000 as a Personal Banker. She has ten years of banking experience in the Kenosha market and currently is a Mortgage Banker.

Paul W. Otto of Kenosha has been named an Officer of Southport Bank. Paul joined Southport Bank in April 2001 as an Accounting Clerk. Currently the Controller, Paul has an Associates Degree from Gateway Technical College and is continuing his education at Carthage College.

Kevin Polheber of Genoa City, has joined Southport Investment Management as a Financial Consultant. Kevin is an experienced Investment professional, and most recently served as a bank investment representative with LaSalle Bank. Kevin will be located at our Paddock Lake branch, and will focus his efforts in western Kenosha County and Walworth County. Southport Investment Management is a service of Southport Bank.

After completion of an internship at the bank and graduation from Marquette University in 2002 with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration and a major in Finance, Kyle has been a Commercial Banking Representative.

Patti Welter has been promoted to Personal Banker at the Paddock Lake Branch. Patti joined Southport Bank in March of 2000 as a Lead Teller.

A two-for-one stock split of its outstanding shares was announced at the Annual Shareholders meeting of Southport Financial Corporation. Also announced was a stock buy back program, offering to buy up to 10% of outstanding shares for $30 a share following the stock split. Current value of the stock before the split was $55.00 per share. This represents a 140% return on investment from the original investment of $25 a share.

Linda L. Lambert, has been promoted to Personal Banker at the main office. Linda joined Southport Bank as a teller in July of 2003.

Cynthia L. Schlater of Kenosha has been promoted to Deposit Operations Manager. Cindy joined Southport Bank in March of 2000 as a Deposit Operations Representative. Most recently she has been Team Leader for Deposit Operations.

Susan M. Bleser, of Kenosha County, has recently been hired as the Assistant Cashier, Operations Officer, and Bank Accounting Manager. She has over twenty-five years of bank operations and administration experience, both at Bank One Chicago, and most recently at Anchor Bank in Third Lake (formerly Grayslake), Illinois. In addition to her accounting duties, she will work with the cashier in facility development and management, compliance, and contract administration.

OCTOBER 2003

Southport Bank announced the purchase of Southport Office Center located at 6709 Green Bay Road. The building is located directly north and adjacent to their main office location at 7027 Green Bay Road. Full service banking including Commercial Lending, Retail and Consumer Banking, Mortgages, and Investments will continue at the Main Office. The building will house the Deposit and Loan Operations areas of the bank. The Customer Call Center and the majority of its Commercial Lending will also be included in the expansion to the new Southport Financial Center. Southport Bank expects to have the facility open in the Spring of 2004.

Paul Otto was recently promoted to Controller at Southport Bank. A graduate of Gateway Technical College with an Associate Degree in Accounting, Paul started with Southport Bank in April 2001 as an Accounting Clerk. Most recently, he has served as Accounting Operations Team Leader and will retain some of those responsibilities with his new position.

JANUARY 2002

Judith Monroe
was promoted to Vice President of Mortgage Banking. Ms. Monroe joined the Bank’s staff in 1999. She has over 30 years experience in local banking, most recently as Assistant Vice President/Mortgage Lending with M&I Marshall & Ilsley Bank. Her main responsibility is mortgage lending in the Kenosha area and contiguous counties. 

Cindy Schlater was promoted to Deposit Operations Team Leader. Ms. Schlater joined the bank in March 2000. She has over 17 years experience in local banking, most recently with M&I Bank. 

Mary Filler was promoted to Loan Operations Team Leader. Ms. Filler joined the bank in July of 1998. She has 28 years if banking experience, most recently with Community State Bank.

Southport Bank is pleased to announce three promotions:

Gerald E. Bonini has been promoted to Executive Vice President/Cashier. Mr. Bonini was one of the founding officers of the Bank in May of 1997. He has 37 years experience in local banking, most recently as Senior Vice President/Cashier with Firstar prior to joining Southport Bank. His responsibilities include accounting, compliance, human resources, and security.

Gerald J. Demske has been promoted to Senior Vice President/Commercial Banking. Mr. Demske was one of the founding officers of the Bank in May of 1997. He has 25 years experience in local banking, most recently as Vice President/Commercial Lending with Bank One prior to joining Southport Bank. His primary responsibility is commercial banking. 

Michael A. Tenuta has been promoted to Senior Vice President/Commercial Banking. Mr. Tenuta joined the Bank’s staff in 1999. He has 25 years experience in local banking, most recently as Vice President/Commercial Banking with M&I prior to joining Southport Bank. His primary responsibility is commercial banking.
