Southport Bank to Establish Racine Office
Southport Bank announced they intend to establish a branch office in Racine early in 2005. Subject to final regulatory approval, Southport Bank will establish a branch office at 5220 Washington Avenue, which currently houses a Johnson Bank branch. The site is two blocks east of the intersection of Highway 20 (Washington Avenue), and Highway 31 (Green Bay Road). This will be Southport’s first bank office outside of Kenosha County.
Southport Bank’s President and CEO, Karl J. Ostby, indicated “We have been growing our customer base in Racine and have received several requests to establish a Racine office. We are very excited to be expanding in the Racine community. We pride ourselves on being a community orientated bank, and we believe Racine is a natural fit for Southport Bank”.
Southport Bank started in 1997 and currently has four branch banks in Kenosha County. It is the largest financial institution based in Kenosha County with over $300 million in assets. Earlier this month, Southport announced that it had acquired ComCor Mortgage based in Waukesha.
